Site registration made easy at MUDA

The Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) became the first urban development authority in Karnataka to have a separate registrar’s office to speed up registration of sites allotted by it to the general public.

The separate district registrar’s office has started functioning at the MUDA office in Jhansi Lakshmi Bai Road. Buyers of sites from the MUDA can now registrar their property in the same premises faster and easily.

So far, they had to go to the other two sub-registrar’s office for registration of the sites, which caused delay in documentation, registration and other processes. This was causing hardship particularly for those who came from outstation and mofussil areas.

Declaring open the office, Deputy Commissioner Mr. S. Selva Kumar said the opening of the office would also bring down pressure on the other registrar’s offices and avoid hardship for MUDA site allottees.

Increasing housing activity by the MUDA required a separate office for registration of its sites.

MUDA Commissioner Mr. Nagaraj said that only sites allotted by the MUDA are being registered in this new office. However, sites of the MUDA approved layouts are not registered in this office, as the sites in these layouts are allotted by private societies.
