Mysore Agarbathi firm wins export award

The Mysore-based N. Ranga Rao and Sons, makers of agarbathies and manufacturers of incense, has been awarded the ‘Niryat Shree Award’ by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.

The 2006 award has been made for the NR Groups’ outstanding export performance and sustained growth, in addition to making an effort in tapping the potential markets identified under the focus programme of the Ministry.

NR Groups’ Managing Partner Arjun Ranga said, “We are extremely happy to be recognized and awarded by the Government of India. While being the leading manufacturer of incense in India, we also foresee a trend that the entire market is growing at the rate of 15 per cent. With this exponential growth, NR Group would strive to achieve greater heights.”

The conglomerate, which makes the well-known ‘Cycle’ brand agarbathies, has spared its wings into other allied business activities spread across perfumes, elctronics, and education. As part of corporate responsibilities, it runs social initiatives under the NR Foundation, like Ranga Rao Memorial Scool for Disabled, project ‘Prerepana’ for slum children and scholarship programme.
